It is such a privilege to be serving United Presbyterian Church in Ft. Morgan as the Commissioned Pastor. Life has come full circle in this commissioning. I grew up in the First Presbyterian Church and made the move to the merger when I was in school. When I returned to Ft. Morgan after college Mary (wife) and I settled into the church and began teaching youth group classes to Middle and High school aged students.

Then in 1998 I was Commissioned for the first time to UPC. But I did not stay in the church very long, I was invited by other churches to fill their pulpits and when appropriate administer the sacraments. In 2001 I was invited by Rankin Presbyterian Church in Brush, to be their commissioned pastor. In 2017 with my teaching career coming to a close the Interims Sam and Janice Adams along with the congregations of Brush and Ft. Morgan began discussing the possibility of a “yoked parish.” After several months of prayer and discernment the Committee on Ministry gave their blessing to begin this wonderful adventure on June 4, 2017.

The end of 2024 brought changes as I did not renew my contract in Brush. I am commissioned part-time to UPC. I am involved in the life of our presbytery serving on committees. I also serve as a board member to the Yucatan Peninsula Ministries mission in Leona Vicario. I have made two mision trips working to help build the universidad and excuela for older high school-aged chirdren. We also have a water plan which provides fresh, clean water to local villages.

I mentioned earlier that I was a teacher. I taught Special Ed, Social Studies and Physical Education and Health during my teaching career with most of those years at Ft. Morgan High School. I also coached several different sports football, basketball, baseball and golf. I graduated with my B.A. from Western State College (now university) in 1987 and a M.A. from University of Northern Colorado in 1994.

My wife Mary and I have been married since 1987. We have three children Aaron born in 1992, Danielle in 1994 and Elizabeth in 2004. I also have two grandchildren Abby and Kayson.
