Meals Needed Update!!—Lucas Hastings had his surgery yesterday. So far things are looking good, but he is still on lots of medication until he is healed enough to resume the normal activities of a toddler. Please continue to pray for him and his family. Also if you can help in any way here is the contact information. If you can make a meal please contact Val Schantz at (970) 380-8650. She is coordinating the schedule and is even willing to deliver the meals. We hope that we can make this situation just a little more bearable as they seek to spend as much time with Lucas as possible.
Warming Center Meals—There is a sign-up sheet on the mission table for people who would be willing to make a meal and take it to Rising Up. We make a dinner on Friday evening and then something that can be warmed up for breakfast on Saturday. Volunteers are needed for the months of January and February.
Christmas Cantata—The UPC and Rankin choirs will be combining for our annual Christmas Cantata on December 22 at 2:00 p.m. “Then Came the Light” is an arrangement that has several narrations that are witty and clever. We hope you can put this on your calendars and attend. We will have a time of fellowship after the performance.
Cookie Exchange—December 22 we will have our cookie exchange. Please bring 3 dozen cookies or “a batch” to share. We will have some plate for us to sample and some to take home.
Items to give away—We have a John Deer snow blower and a 21” mower that we would like to find a new home. If you know of someone who is in need, or you would like them please talk to Ken Coffin or Dick Ferguson. We also have some flower pots, vases and left-over kitchen containers that need to be claimed or given away as well. They will go to Goodwill at the end of the year.
Christmas Eve Service—Our Candlelight Christmas Eve service will be at 6:00 p.m.
Special Worship Service Dec. 29— I am going on vacation to see Danielle in AZ Dec. 26-31. We will have a pot-luck brunch at 10:00 a.m. and informal worship service to follow. Rankin will be joining us for this service. If you still have Christmas left-overs, this is a great time to unload them.
Sunday School news from Keri Underwood—We had a great first half of the year in children’s Sunday school! Thank you, Liz, for being part of the team! We had a successful Christmas program with 9 children taking part. We have planned fun, games and snacks for this coming Sunday the 22nd. We will begin our second half of Sunday school starting January 19th. We are still looking for one more teacher to add to the rotation. Merry Christmas! Keri and Liz.
